MERRY CHRISTMAS CATCH UP

Hey everyone,

So here's the deal....I've had a lot less time to do this whole blogging thing than I anticipated. HOWEVER, I'm not a quitter! Also the whole purpose of this blog was to help people thinking about or applying to dietetic internships have a better idea of what to expect. I'm being optimistic that it's not just my family and friends reading this, but younger dietetic students as well, so I don't want to give up on them! With that said, I'm just going to travel back in time a little and try to catch y'all up so we can all enter 2011 on the same page!

Purpose

Dietetics internships (those necessary to become an Registered Dietitian) have become extraordinarily competitive. This matching process is complicated, stressful, and occupies much of a undergraduate nutrition student's thought. With all the questions and confusion about the process to get placed in an internship, little time is left for students to explore and understand what being an intern actually is like.

I'm writing this blog to help encourage and spread healthy food and nutrition practices, but it's purpose is also greatly to help undergraduate students understand what is ahead of them. With a better understanding of the internship, hopefully students can become more confident in what they want, and develop the confidence needed to land an internship and excel.
